Within about 15 km are several Nuragic sites, including the nuraghe complex of Santa Sabina near Silanus and the nuraghe of Orolo toward Bortigali, and the area is known for prehistoric archaeology as well as sheep and cattle farming. Macomer is the nearest town of size, with rail connections, shops and services.
